Updated: Dec 10, 2020

Kate is one of those naturally stylish individuals with an aptitude for putting a look together.

We first met at UCA Epsom School of Art, where Kate studied fashion design and illustration and I studied fashion design and construction.

Kate has since built a career in commercial fashion, honed by her university experience and two brilliant internships, where she soaked up the mechanics of how the industry works laying the foundation for a successful career with brands including Miss Selfridge, M&S, Tesco, Monsoon and Debenhams. Kate has an in-depth understanding of retailing encompassing product development, supply chain, merchandising, marketing, retail operations and multi-channel, enhanced by a grounding in fashion forecasting and experience in re-invigorating

departments including Womenswear, Accessories, Gifting, Kidswear, Swim & Beachwear, Nightwear & Lingerie.

In our podcast, we discuss the importance for retailers to adapt and deliver to the needs of an ever-evolving consumer mindset informed by the socio-economic trends and consumer data that drive both product design and retail strategies. As a confident and experienced leader, Kate tells us how she engages, challenges and motivates teams to strive for excellence and engages us in her passion for product and innovation, with a highly attuned intuition for spotting trends, colour and product opportunities, creating new design strategies and launching new collections.
